  • Image of God: Perspective Through History

So often when we hear the phrase “made in God’s image,” or “Image of God” we picture something external, a physical resemblance, or maybe the ability to reason and feel. But if you stop at just the body or the mind, you miss the very heart of what God intended. You see, what truly makes us image-bearers isn’t just our form; it’s our function.

    The Original Blueprint

In the very beginning, when God said, “Let Us make man in Our image and after Our likeness,” (Genesis 1:26),
He wasn’t admiring our potential cheekbones or brain waves.
He was giving us something far more powerful:

    • Authority over the earth.
    • Glory as a covering.
    • Purpose as a reflection.

God clothed us with His glory and gave us His authority to manage, multiply, and manifest His heart on the earth.
That’s what it means to rule and reign as co-laborers with Heaven.

We weren’t just made to exist. We were created to represent.

    More Than a Body.

When you define your worth by your body, your looks, your culture, or even your intelligence, you’re playing small. The real treasure is this: you were designed to carry Heaven’s intent.

Your body is the house—but the glory and authority are the real evidence that you’re made in His image. That’s why the enemy doesn’t just attack your self-esteem—he attacks your assignment.

He wants to strip you of glory, confuse your authority, and keep you unaware of what you’re really carrying.

The Thief of Glory and Authority

Remember this: Satan didn’t become “god of this world” by force. He stole what Adam surrendered—the authority and glory God gave us.

That’s why he began to function like a god—because he hijacked what was never his.

When we lost that divine covering, we didn’t stop being human, but we started living far beneath what humans were meant to be.

    Jesus: The Image Restorer

Here’s the good news: Jesus came to restore what was lost.
Not just to forgive your sins (though He absolutely did), but to bring back the glory and reauthorize you to live out your full image-bearing potential.

Through Christ, you don’t just get saved—you get reinstated as a ruler and restorer on earth.

    Conclusion: Step Into the Image
You are not a mistake. You are not just skin and bones.
You were designed with glory. You were entrusted with authority.

And you were created on purpose—for purpose.
It’s time to stop living like a reflection of the world and start living like a reflection of the One who made it.
